Saint Kitts Saint Kitts Events
Last June, the St Kitts Music Festival took place. And it's time to share some of the best annual events in Stitts with you. There were about 28 different musical acts and my personal favourite, the Third World, had previously performed at the St. Kitt's Music Festival. Alison Hinds from Square One gave us a brief spell of rain that made the crowd leave their accommodation and come in and out. Twenty - One Music acts, which included Soca, Reggae, Rhythm, Blues and Gospel, were featured at the festival, including a number of local and international artists as well as some international acts.
After the Sugar Festival, the YAT Concierge organized an island tour to learn about the history of St. Kitts and Nevis and its history, including colonization by the French and British and how it shaped the island. The British settled Stitts (formerly St. Christopher) in 1623 and today - Saint Kitt's and Nevis - are settled by French, French Polynesian, Spanish, British, Dutch and French Guiana.
St Kitts and Nevis became an independent nation, and that now means Britain no longer controls the country's affairs. This was achieved in 1983 and is celebrated as a public holiday and today as a national holiday.
The last week of June is the time of the St Kitts music festival, while the week - the long Culturama Nevis - lasts until the end of July or the beginning of August. There are other festivals on the island of Saintitts, and there are a few fringe festivals and events, but this is clearly the best time of year to visit St Kitts and Neviis. The biggest annual event on the island is the annual Saint Kitt's Festival of Music and Arts, a three-day festival of music, dance, art, gastronomy and entertainment.
The highlight of the St. Kitts Carnival is the annual Carnival, a three-day celebration of carnival music, dance and entertainment. The event is a crowd-pleaser with talented local musicians, dancers, musicians and entertainers from around the world.
The St. Kitts Carnival, also known as Sugar Mas, offers a mix of traditional Christmas and New Year celebrations, mixed with a variety of carnival activities such as dancing, singing and dancing. Carnival competitions are the highlight and participants will spend the whole year preparing for their moment of glory. From the annual Carnival mas, a group of stories that tell the story of the island, to the battle for the top prize, the Kittians seek entertainment almost non-stop during the carnival. This year's competition features some of the best artists from St.I.T. performing incredible soca and calypso shows, competing to qualify for the competition and a coveted spot on stage.
Unlike any other festival in the Caribbean, the St. Kitts Music Festival is a creative mix of different musical styles. The special features have contributed to making it one of the most popular music festivals in North America and the world. It also offers Kittians the opportunity to see artists who have not performed on the island before.
The St. Kitts Music Festival is one of the more established music festivals in the Caribbean and the world. Music festivals and tourism are an important source of income for the island's economy and tourism industry.
The events calendar in Saint Kitts and Nevis includes cultural, sporting, cultural and other events taking place in and around the island's capital, St Lucia, and other parts of the Caribbean.
This year, both St Kitts and Nevis will host events and festivals that are not to be missed. While Montserrat holds its own year-end celebration, the Stitts events are not the only way to celebrate the New Year. There is no shortage of events of St. Kitt, which are becoming more and more popular during the Christmas period, when costumed parades, concerts, dances and other events fill the streets. What to expect from festivals in St. Lucia, what to look out for, food you can trust and rely on, and the best food in the Caribbean.
Note: Park Hyatt St. Kitts covers 20 hectares on the southeastern peninsula of the island and overlooks the strait that separates Stitts from neighboring Nevis. The surrounding coral reef is located in a channel known as Narrows, and its numerous hotels and events are known to host hotel events.
Every March, keen swimmers attempt to cross the Strait of Stitts-Nevis, a narrow waterway between the two islands. The sister island of Nev also offers a wide range of historical sights. During your stay in Kitts, get ready for a guided snorkeling tour, followed by a drive through the Narrows to the southern tip of the island, where turtles are common, and some of the most beautiful coral reefs in the Caribbean.
Every September, Nevis hosts a running festival where you can take part in a 10 km run, half marathon or marathon. St Kitts is also the venue of an annual triathlon, which has become increasingly popular in recent years due to its high level of competition. If that is not enough, you can also do triathlons on the island in the summer months. Every March, the annual Stitts Nevis Swim takes place, where brave swimmers take to the water on the beautiful shores of St Kitts to relax.
